The first 'The Wild Robot' trailer has been released
DreamWorks has released the first trailer for the animated movie 'The Wild Robot.' Chris Sanders wrote and directed the film. Pedro Pascal, Stephanie Hsu, and Lupita Nyong'o star. The movie hits theaters on September 20, 2024.
'The Wild Robot' is based on the book of the same name by writer/illustrator Peter Brown.
The Wild Robot book has been described as "Wall-E meets Hatchet" on Google Books. We follow a robot named Roz, who has been stranded on an island after a shipwreck. Lupita Nyong'o voices the robot. Nyong'o is most recently known for her roles in the MCU's Black Panther and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens.’ Pedro Pascal also has a history with Star Wars. Playing the lead in the Disney+ series ‘The Mandalorian.’ Pascal will also play Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming MCU Fantastic Four film. Hsu is most known for her roles on the TV shows ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ and ‘The Path.’ Sanders made his directorial debut in 2002 with 'Lilo and Stitch.' He followed this with 'How to Train Your Dragon' and 'The Croods.'
Peter Brown's picture book was first published in 2016. In 2023, DreamWorks announced they were adapting the book into a movie. The first trailer was released on March 5, 2024. A release to theaters is scheduled for September 20, 2024.
