Sony Pictures Classics to distribute 'Between the Temples'
Distribution rights to 'Between the Temples' have been acquired by Sony Pictures Classics. The movie stars Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane. Nathan Silver Directed.
'Between the Temples' premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. The movie is about "A cantor in a crisis of faith finds his world turned upside down when his grade school music teacher re-enters his life as his new adult Bat Mitzvah student." (IMDB) A cantor is "an official who sings liturgical music and leads prayer in a synagogue." Schwartzman plays the cantor. Carol Kane is the music teacher.
Schwartzman made his acting debut in 1998 in Wes Anderson's 'Rushmore.' He was also in 'I Heart Huckabee's' and 'Shopgirl.' Carol Kane made her film debut in 1971 with 'Desperate Characters' and has been a regular on TV and film. Some of her most notable projects include The Ghost of Christmas Past in 'Scrooged,' and Valorie in 'The Princess Bride.'
'Between the Temples' will make its international debut at the Berlin International Film Festival this month.
